Info

One of Germany ’s best hardcore bands is back! After almost five years their new album “All In Me” is released and sets new standards for Leipzig ’s hardcore scene. In the course of their last successful sampler (“Unchain The Chained” HALB-30/2002) the band went on tour and was enhanced by a second guitarist. But since 2004 Full Speed Ahead slowly withdrew from playing live. One main reason was the leaving of the bassist which could not be compensated for a long time. But the less live gigs, the more time was there for creative song writing. In the meantime, the remaining four extensively used the new circumstances for composing new titles and focused mainly on the accentuation of their approved style and the addition of new musical elements. At the same time, Full Speed Ahead were looking for a new bassist who was finally found in 2005. Newly fused, the band strengthened and developed their latest pieces. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and after almost two years, “All In Me”, the hitherto most diverse and powerful output of Leipzig ’s hardcore heroes was produced.

“All In Me” is an album under pressure, full of energy and aggression. Because of new musical influences the album seems more mature and concrete than its predecessor. The influence of the new-gained guitarist is unmistakable and has a great effect on the quality of the songs. The sound is more aggressive and versatile and new forces and ideas can be discerned. Besides, it is the most personal album so far, since song texts not only refer to topics such as social evils and defects but also to emotions and thoughts about fear, hope and love. Now, the waiting comes to an end and with their impressive album “All In Me” the band returns. The perfect mixture of the typical aggressive F.S.A. sound and new musical aspects constitutes this powerful and diverse release. The hardcore of Full Speed Ahead stands out due to the combination of aggressive riffs, heart and melody. As usual, the name is a dead giveaway.

Technical dates: The cd is released in cooperation with the GHC-Label VINYL JUNKIES. The sampler appears in a 16-sided, 4-coloured Booklet with song texts, information and photos. The release of a vinyl version is postponed to September 2007

FULL SPEED AHEAD …introduction of the new album. Comments by front man Stefan Fabich.

ALL IN ME: There is more than you can see! The text describes me and my diverse convictions. It should be illustrated how important it is to reflect on oneself. Accordingly, I wrote a song which is straightforward and bursts with strength.

TWIST OF FATE: This song refers to situations which are later acknowledged or discounted as “twist of fate”. The song was written in a phase in which I felt powerless and uncertain, abandoned to my fate. Things weren’t in my hands anymore, I couldn’t influence or control them. This kind of disorientation and helplessness is certainly known by everyone. The song was meant to open a new chapter and emphasizes the maturation of Full Speed Ahead.

NOT YET ENOUGH: That was the first song after our former bassist had left the band. Time had come to get back on track. We chose a typical hardcore theme which is impressing and can be easily remembered.

THIS REVELATION: Suddenly, I wondered why I reveal so many things about myself in texts. After I’ve found an answer I wrote this invitation to follow me. The musical finish includes a new style which gives the song a particular importance on our new album.

TRYING TO REFUSE: I considered the results of my self-realization, the implementation of the dreams I had in my younger days in relation to my present-day life. It is a challenge to my future and the strong will to remain steady and not to become a fool. It is a difficult matter but the music wraps it up harmonically and at the end of the song the piano inspires to think about ones own dreams.

DECAY: This is my outcry! The daily news about victims in families, especially women and children, evoke my contempt and sadness. Sick behaviour as a consequence of a sick society. The examples I chose are just an illustration of the social decline. The song hits you with all its power.

SWEET VIRUS: I hope you know the feeling of love. How enthralled and captivated you are when you are at love’s mercy. The virus of love and this song eat into your head.

ADDICTION: Addiction is an illness from which many people suffer and partially perish. What at first sight seems to be the only way out turns out to be a dead end. Everyone should seek help to learn to put things straight by own means. This song is meant to be a warning but as well a stimulus for change. A song with balanced musical variation, between urgency and force and a rousing guitar solo.

FRUSTRATED FACES: When we communicate we can learn from each other and exchange thoughts and emotions, we can reflect about commonalities and differences and find encouraging words which help to live with each other. But instead of communication, our minds are manipulated, our thoughts are confused and there are thousands of faces on the streets which reflect our mendacious society.

RISE AGAIN: This is my appeal to strengthen your self-confidence. The strength you need to achieve your own or common goals. Analogical, this dynamic, powerful song came into being.

YOUR SONG: The text was written in a difficult phase in which I was afraid to lose the most important person for me and my newborn daughter. The situation was characterized by helplessness and anger to be at the mercy of the so-called “fate”. This experience is converted in the song and the desire for inner harmony is supported by the acoustic part.
